Abseiler: Jonathan Baker
My mother is an MPD sufferer and the impact on her life has been huge. She has regular hospital monitoring and has a hefty drug regime that she must adhere to. Every penny that I raise will go towards funding research into this disease so please give generously.

My wife
Rachel was diagnosed with an MPD four years ago, it changed our lives immediately. She had had pneumonia and was at hospital for a routine blood test, the shock of the diagnosis was huge. Please give generously to MPD Support, it has now become a vital part of our lives and we need it to grow.

Some of you may know, in 2007 I abseiled down 469 feet, the tallest abseiling event in the UK. I am about to do this again, this time going face forward! When I first learned I had this disorder I was offered emotional support from MPD Support Charity in London, which I have found to be invaluable.

I will do just about anything, including abseil down a tower to help raise money for the MPD charity, the charity one of my dearest friends, Rachael Bridgman is supporting. Rachael is keen to find a cure in order to lead a more normal existence with her three wonderful children and charming husband Paul.

I was diagnosed with an MPD a year ago. MPDs are a rare group of blood disorders - they can cause strokes, heart attacks, debilitating fatigue and can lead to leukaemia or bone marrow failure. The combination of symptoms and side effects from medication make every day life a challenge.

Cyclist: Joseph, age 10
I am Rachel Bridgman's nephew Joseph and I am 10 years old. On June 13th I am going to be taking part in the annual charity LiDBA bike ride around Liphook in Hampshire. You have to be 10 years old to take part, so I'll be one of the youngest riders. It's 24 miles and apparently there are some really nasty hills around the course so I know it's going to be hard work.

Abseiler: Louise J Simpson
As you know this charity is very close to my heart, having being diagnosed myself with a myeloproliferative disorder (MPD), polycythemia vera, back in 2009.
I also like a challenge. I have decided it is time again to push myself outside of my comfort zone by
abseiling down Guy's Tower.

My friend Paul Bridgman's wife, Rachel, suffers from an MPD. Having met the family and seeing first hand how close they are, this news was very distressing and I felt quite helpless and could only offer my prayers for Rachel's health - these, with my best wishes, are always there for the family. However, sitting around and feeling sorry is never enough and I am happy to have the opportunity to become involved in a fundraising event for MPD Support.
